on the road again

I took a whirlwind trip up to the Dallas area from Thursday afternoon until Friday evening. It takes about 4.5 hours to drive there from my house (plus I always have to stop at Buc-ee's in Madisonville for a little bit), so it was a whole lot of driving on my own in two days.

Top left: Taken through my driver's side window while cruising down the interstate. I didn't know if it turned out until I could stop and check later. (It did! Yay!)

Top right: My hotel room. It had seven places to sit that weren't the bed & only one person - me! I stayed at the Best Western Premier Crown Chase Inn & Suites in Denton. (It was close to the reason I was on the trip in the first place.) It cost about $100 and included free parking, wifi, and breakfast. The staff was nice, my room was clean, the air conditioner cooled excellently, and the TV was big. (Thanks, Expedia!)

Bottom left: I packed three medications and all of them involved fixing an upset stomach. It made me laugh when I was unpacking and saw them all -- Whoa! Someone's got a sensitive digestive system. (I also had itch cream, but I ALWAYS have that, so it doesn't count as being packed.)

Bottom right: In January, I drove past this sign with some friends and I had to explain what that bottom item is (the "special" flashlight). Yesterday, I saw that they've added books to their selection and had to stop for a photo.

As for the weekend, today we're cleaning & I'm writing. Tomorrow is Snow White day, and then I'll be glued to the MTV Movie Awards waiting for the Perks of Being a Wallflower trailer. (I've been in love with the book and waiting for a movie since 1999!)
